What is the Emerald Auction?

The Emerald Auction is the school's biggest fundraising event of the year.  This event is for everyone – new parents, seasoned parents, and parents of children from all grade levels. It’s a wonderful night to celebrate our school and raise some money to continue to provide tremendous opportunities for our children.  

 

Where and when is the auction?

This year, the event will be held at the Discovery World Pavillion on the evening of March 12. The party begins at 5:30 with registration, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and the cellphone-based silent auction.  

 

When should I buy my tickets?

Now! You have until 2/25.  

 

I'm trying to buy my tickets, and there's a text box asking me who I am sitting with. What's the deal with that?

Traditionally, people figure out beforehand who they want to sit with, and input their request at the time of buying their tickets. There will be tables of 10 this year. However, there are a ton of new families this year, and many many people who won't be able to come up with a table of 10 people to sit with. Please don't worry about it!!!  You can simply skip this section and leave the box blank. There will be a lot of people with blank boxes this year and that's just fine!! We will create tables of people for anyone not set to an assigned table.  It will be a GREAT way to meet new people. Or, you can email the auction chairs at info@emeraldauction.org and introduce yourself (tell us your name(s) and what grade your child(ren) are in). We will help you find a table of new friends. Or, indicate your child(ren)’s grade in the text box when prompted at registration. 

 

Can I buy tickets for just the cocktail hour and silent auction?

No, not for this year's event. Stay tuned for an opportunity to participate in the silent auction even if you will not be able to attend the live auction on March 12.

 

What's the best way I can help? 

Thanks for asking! There are many ways to help. First, buy tickets and join us that night! Second, consider making a sponsorship donation. It takes a lot to pull off a night like this, and every dollar helps. You can easily make a donation by clicking the "sponsor" button on the homepage. Third, you could make an auction item donation. Maybe your family has tickets to an event (concerts, plays, Badgers, Bucks, Brewers, Marquette, etc.), special items, or skills that could motivate some bidding by the attendees? You can fill out the auction item form by clicking on the "gift items" button also located on the homepage. If you’re not sure about whether your item is worth donating, reach out to the auction chairs at info@emeraldauction.org.  

What is a Teacher Appreciation Ticket?  

Teacher appreciation tickets cover the cost of a ticket for a teacher or staff person. It's a way to say thank you to our tremendous teachers and staff. (You can ignore the box that asks you where the teacher would like to sit, or what they would like for dinner - we are collecting this information directly from them).  

 

What should I wear?!  

The event is cocktail attire. Suits/jackets for the guys, cocktail dresses for the ladies.  

 

What should I expect at the auction?  

A super fun night!! The event begins with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a sit-down dinner, our live auction, a special paddle raise, and some laughs. After the bidding is closed, we’ll have the chance to continue the party with a phenomenal DJ and more fun! 

 

What's the best way to get to the event?   

Many people choose to take Uber or Lyft to this event. There will be limited parking available on-site. If those spots get filled, there is some available and nearby street parking as well.
